Rate limit

A cap on how many requests a caller may make in a period.

What it means

A rate limit protects a service from being overwhelmed by one caller. Well-behaved APIs tell you where you stand in response headers and say how long to wait when you are over.

How Onekey handles it

Each key gets 600 requests per minute by default and 50 requests in flight at once, refilled continuously. Responses carry X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining and X-RateLimit-Reset. Over the limit you get 429 RATE_LIMITED with Retry-After, and it costs nothing. A batch counts as one request. Answers served from cache have their own separate allowance.
