How it works

Each registry has its own endpoint (npm/package, pypi/package, crates/crate, rubygems/gem, dockerhub/repo, gitlab/project, huggingface/model), one credit per lookup. They answer in the same canonical fields: the version is package.version, downloads are entity.stats.downloads, stars and forks are entity.stats.stars and entity.stats.forks. A field a registry does not publish is null, so npm shows no download count here and GitLab may hide its open-issue count. See the unified schema and developer intelligence.

GitHub repositories are not in this tool. GitHub's endpoints can fall back to paid proxy routes when GitHub rate-limits an address, and a free public tool must not be able to trigger those. With your own key they work the same way.
